How does it work

SIBA records the reflected spectra in-line through a  loop from the mash tank and through a unique multivariate calibration complex it determines and provides a full profiling of the molecules present in the mash, including the key parameters needed by the brewers to controll the mashing process.

SIBA operates in the Mid infrared area (MIR) where the first order excitation of the key molecules of the mashing process occurs.

SIBA thus provides very accurate measuring results.

A systems operating in the Near infrared area (NIR) would only give rise to excitation of second or third orders in the key molecules of the mashing process. This  would only provide sketchy and uncertain information of the molecular presence of no use to the analyses of  the mashing process.
